RYEOK
The Ryeok, not a single person in the city hasn't heard of the Ryeok. They are the backbone of the city these days, they have a man on every corner, in every business, in every family. They have been for a while now, passed down through the generations and growing each succession into something more. The leaders of organised crime, they don't dare deal with petty things that could get messy and attract more attention - they don't need to anymore. Ryeok essentially own the city, they run everything and they know everything - or so they thought. Tensions are rising as a rival gang, the Bulsajo, have sprung up once more and are pushing their way into Ryeok territory. Not one for disloyalty, the ryeok are working to ensure that the traitors will learn their place in the city.
The symbol of the Ryeok is the tiger, which is where their motto comes from; this has been tradition since they were first formed. now every new recruit is branded, to prove thier loyalty to ryeok, with a tiger tattoo - black and white with the smallest amount of orange. That is, if they live long enough to get the tattoo.

the boss : the most feared man in the city, he's in charge and no one would dare to question his orders, if they like their head attached to their body.

the heir : second in command, the child of the boss and just as ruthless, just as important. the heir deals with most of the business that doesn't require serious attention or connections.

Second in Command : second in command to the heir, these are the most trusted advisers and people that are trusted to take over should anything happen. Everyone else answers to the second in command.

Capos : although they are below the second in command, they have almost as much power. They are the ones dealing with the day to day running of operations (such as arms dealings, or running their clubs) but also some of the most feared members of the Ryeok.

Soldiers : those working on the front lines, directly under the capo's commands. They're the ones dealing or making the drugs, selling themselves, working in the casinos or clubs that Ryeok own and even the bodyguards or hitmen. The workers that keep the wheel turning.

BULSAJO
Bulsajo, meaning phoenix, always believe that anyone can rise from the ashes if they are worthy enough. They are new, fresh and chaotic compared to the organisation and familial theme of the Ryeok. Having been formed a lot later than the Ryeok, Bulsajo has stemmed from the same beginnings - their boss having once been a proud member of the Ryeok. they arose from the runts of the ryeok, as well as those who were disgruntled by the ryeok’s incessant need for rules and tradition. this gives them an edge as they know how to work the system, although they aren't nearly as neat or even as careful as the Ryeok. Most are wanted criminals hiding from the law, rather than paying their way out of it as some others might. Some might even say that most of the Bulsajo are the best at their trade but the messiest, most unreliable.
Having made enemies with the Ryeok following their own production in drugs and weaponry, they were almost wiped out in the city - but as the Bulsajo say, they rose from the ashes once more. And they're back with a vengeance.
The symbol of the Bulsajo is of course a phoenix, those really committed to the Bulsajo will have a tattoo of a phoenix somewhere on their body, this to the Bulsajo is a sign of brother/sisterhood and not of ownership so they only ask that people get the tattoo if they mean it and want it rather than having to earn the right.

The Workers: These are the workers for Bulsajo, from your street racers and hitmen to your drug dealers and producers. They're not nearly as neat as Ryeok and most of them are wanted. They have a lot more control than the soldiers of Ryeok, more freedom to do things.

FAQ
why are there only two gangs?
due to the nature of the roleplay and sometimes the limited number of members, we decided to start out as two different gangs and possibly add a third later.
do i have to be in one of the gangs?
no, you don't have to be, you can be a regular civilian with gang affiliations if you wish. just let us know.
only the admins can be heir?
yes, to avoid internal conflict, we decided only the admins may be the heir.
why the system?
the hierarchy system is always in place for gangs, we decided to incorporate it and change it slightly between the two different gangs. especially as bulsajo don't traditionally follow the system.
triggering topics?
of course, with the darker themed roleplay, there will be triggering topics so we kindly ask everyone adds any trigger warnings to a thread that might have them and not to go over the top with the triggers please.
19+ fc's?
yes, due to the nature of the roleplay, it is 19+ fc's only and this will not change.
oc names?
so we will be using idol names not oc names, however you may use code names alongside your idol name. for example, jung soojung may be known as krystal or q (whatever, you get the point) to her gang members or those outside of the gang who don't know her full name.
ages?
so while your fc must be 19+, you can edit the ages by +/- 3 years maximum. you may not make your character age younger than 19 however.
